DIY Weather Station

As part of our Weather Unit study I decided that a Weather Station would be appropriate since my 3.5 year old was already familiar with different types of weathers thanks to our Weather 3-part cards.

Our Weather Station included

  • A Weather Graph – The graph included space for sunny , cloudy, partly cloudy, rainy, stormy & snowy weather. Each day we color the box as per the weather outside and we chose different colors for different types of weathers. My daughter finds it quite exciting to discuss loudly which weather is ‘winning’ and which one is ‘almost catching up’

  • A Weather Chart – I printed the circular template on regular A4 paper and stuck it on cardstock. Then using a black cardstock paper I cut out the arrow and attached it to the centre of the Chart using a soft board pin. My 3.5 year old is obsessed with changing the hand of the chart numerous times a day depending on the weather outside and is much more fond of the chart and its movable hand than the Graph.

The hanging above our weather station is the Raindrop Sun catcher craft we did for our Weather unit. You can read about it in my blog post for the same.
